This work is a part of the project I am currently working on called 'Emotional bodies': an exploration of the layers of ancestral influences and other projections that the human body is wrapped in, consciously or not. The vastness of information concealed within these layers may be overwhelming and, therefore, kept hidden, with only a glimpse visible from the outside.
By cutting large tapestry prints that have biographical significance into 20x20 squares, I freed the light from the tunnel and divided my complex ancestral legacy to make it easier to integrate.
Currently on display at Re:generation exhibition at 44 AD Artspace in Bath.

Chaotic movement with no resolution, dancing like a ghost inside the tunnel. Tangled in a string, restricted by the limits of the walls... The tunnel has no end. The inner flame of life becomes the guiding light: slashing action that divides the whole into 20x20 canvas squares. Something is freed up.
Moving along the spiralling timeline, beginning and ending in absolute stillness, the flow of the life force through the body doesn’t have any consistency or logic beyond that, which is the easiest pathway. Every time it reaches a dead end, a solid building block is created. Rich in memories and meaning, it becomes a part of our personal and collective story, our beginning, a point in time.
That point can be as far as the memory can possibly go, beyond the primitive people, beyond mammals, beyond stars… Or as close as the grandparent with a secret, a passion or a collection of books in a different language.
The milestones, the events that happen throughout our lives – they are the growth blocks created from drawings in the collective memory because they had to be, one way or the other. Despite being able to explain the process on many levels, we still struggle to imagine just how and why all of this is possible as a whole.
How are we possible, so imperfect and yet still alive and building… Always busy building the temple, over and over again.
Destroying?
You cannot destroy history.
That which is written on a timeline is the story of you. It is the story of you, the human, the story of your kind. You can reuse the blocks as much as you want and see what you can become.
Who is talking to you, human?
We are talking to the points in time all the time because we are in them, and we are them. We are talking to all of the points at all times: we, the emotional bodies, the representatives of the divine. The life force unites us into one entity: a flock of starlings, a wave in the ocean, or a scoop of soil in the garden.
Yes, soil is what our human bodies eventually become, and this is what they are made of. Soil and water. We are the temple and the garden at the same time; we are the marble and the rotting leaves, the flowers and piled-up wood offcuts from the roof structure. We are the choice to look out of the window and see the sun rising.
We are the beauty that has the capacity to see beauty.
